Community Counseling Services is a comprehensive community mental health center in Mississippi that transports hundreds of patients across seven counties each week. The fleet recently switched 17 vehicles to propane autogas under the Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program, with fueling and conversions through Program partner Alliance AutoGas. Twelve more vehicles are slated for conversion by the end of the year.
According to a fleet case study from SPADP, Community Counseling Services will save approximately $35,000 in fuel costs annually with the 17 autogas vans, while displacing more than 22 tons of greenhouse gas emissions each year. And when all of the fleet’s 29 vans are operating on autogas, the company expects to save more than $60,000 in fuel costs and displace approximately 40 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
Last quarter, the Community Counseling Services fleet saved $1.63 per gallon on autogas versus gasoline, and will displace around 30,000 gallons of gasoline each year running all of its vans on autogas.

Alliance AutoGas partner Force 911 in Ocean Springs performed the van conversions, and the network also installed a 1,000-gallon autogas fueling station for the fleet’s private use at its Columbus location.
